Paul F. Richardson, 88 of Middletown, passed away in Red Bank September 24, 2017. Born in Boston to Leo and Nora (Finlay) Richardson, Paul proudly served in the US Marine Corp until 1948. He graduated from Boston University with a BA in Public Relations/Communications specializing in Industrial Relations, before joining Mclean Trucking, Winston Salem, NC in 1952. He went on to become the President and Vice Chairman of Sea-Land Service, Inc. where he was proud of his contribution to the peopling and management of the 10 major operating divisions that formed Sea-Land. In 1977, he founded Paul F. Richardson Associates, Inc., an international maritime and transportation consulting firm, serving the Maritime industry, including shipping lines, ports, and shipbuilding companies, as well as labor and labor management groups. He was a long time benefactor of CBA in Lincroft, NJ.
Paul was predeceased by his wife of 53 years, Jane Elizabeth (Gill) in 2003, son Francis Paul, daughter, June Elin, and grandson, Sean Gill Richardson. He is survived by two sons: Paul Matthew, spouse Nancy, and Peter Kevin Richardson; three daughters: Jayne Maura, spouse William Kennelly, Joan Elin and Maura Louise Richardson; and a brother, George Richardson. He is also survived by three grandchildren: Peter Gill Richardson, spouse Marion Fitzgerald, Jennifer Lee Richardson, spouse Brian Stevens, and Laura Jayne Richardson; and by three great grandchildren: Ryan Paul Stevens, Lillian June Richardson and Declan Gill Richardson.
Visitation and a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Church of the Nativity, 180 Ridge Rd, Fair Haven, NJ. Visitation will be Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 and the Mass will be celebrated on Friday at 10:00 am. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Middletown. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations in Paul’s memory to Christian Brothers Academy, Lincroft, NJ. Please visit Paul’s memorial website at johnedayfuneralhome.com.
