I was so sorry to hear of your father's passing. He and my parents, Diane and Ted Killeen, befriended each other at St. Mary's Sunday mass. And your dad was such a good friend to my dad after my mom's passing. I truly believe they enjoyed each others company and banter. I also had the pleasure of getting to know your dad on my visits back east when I went to mass with mine, and had breakfast with "the boys" on several occasions. Your dad was such a gregarious and gracious, gentleman, and I enjoyed knowing him. The last time I saw your dad was at my father's funeral, and I so appreciated that he came, even as he was slowing down. I hope you're able to hold onto good memories, and that that brings you some comfort. My sincere condolences. Pamela Killeen

My deepest sympathies to the entire Richardson family. Paul was a long time colleague with Sea-Land going back to his days in Boston in the late 1950s when I was in Jacksonville and our weekly communications on the deliveries of Gillette razor blades to drug stores in Florida as Gillette was Paul's primary account and I had to see to it that deliveries went well and the end customer was happy with our service. He was a tremendous leader and friend for many decades. We last spoke only recently as I told him of my move into a retirement home here in Naples and encouraged him to come down for a visit. We stayed in regular touch over the years and I will miss him greatly along with all who ever knew him. My condolences to his entire family. May God bless his soul and comfort his family. What a guy!

I extend my prayers to the family and friends of Paul Richardson. May GOD give you comfort and bring peace to your hearts.
In 1970 I joined Sea-land when Paul Richardson, President and Mike McEvoy, CEO were leading the company under Mr. Malcom P. Mclean, founder.
It was my great fortune to have frequent contact with Paul, and while we not personal friends, he was an important mentor and role model to me in my late 20's.
Trying to describe Paul's charisma and business success, I would simply say Paul was a rare combination of class and charm on the one hand, and business acumen and drive on the other. He showed me that cooperation and goodwill can achieve more that aggression and malice.
Though I'm not the perfect student, I believe my life has been more successful because of Paul's influence so long ago.
And I do believe my case is only one of thousands who also benefitted from their association with Mr. Paul Richardson.
With gratitude, Dave Herring

To the family of Paul Richardson
Please accept my sincere condolences. I have taken comfort knowing that God . . . will wipe all tears from their eyes, and there will be no more death, suffering, crying, or pain.”—Revelation 21:3, 4
The Bible, however, holds out a much different hope. As we have previously noted, the Scriptures indicate that it is possible to be reunited with your dead loved one in the near future, not in an unknown heaven but right here on earth under peaceful, righteous conditions. And at that time humans will have the prospect of enjoying perfect health, and they will never have to die again. ‘But surely that is wishful thinking!’ for some may say. Sincerely,
Roberta

Starting my career at Sea-Land, Boston, I met Paul in my first week when at a company hospitality suite he assigned me to my first " training mission" as hospitality suite bartender, focused on keeping the visiting clients, happy, talkative and well refreshed. A job he felt the new guy could handle.
Throughout my career, after several years with Sea-Land, I went beyond and elsewhere in the industry to Antwerp, Montreal, New York, Miami, Edison, Jacksonville, Marseilles and Atlanta. I always remembered what I learned and what I gained from my early days in the "Paul F. Richardson" lead Sea-Land Service team.
From time to time I would have contact with Paul and he was always most gracious friendly and helpful, which was just his natural style.
I am thankful that I met the man and although I was never in his inner circle, he always was ready to provide assistance, insight, help.and ready to put in a good word, on my behalf.
I'm glad our paths crossed even if it was just from time to time. Paul was simply just one great guy!
Bon Voyage Paul !
