I first met Jerry in the late 1960s while I was still in high school. He was practicing law in Red Bank . He and my Dad were great friends and Dad insisted that I meet him. I can still close my eyes and hear his stentorian voice and smell the aroma of his ever present cigars. He was always a gentleman and a great inspiration to a future BC alum and aspiring attorney. He was a great guy and he loved the law. Though I never had the occasion to appear before him, I always heard his praises sung by his colleagues. He was one of those rare people who never forgot his roots and always was honest and genuine in his dealings with all of those who were fortunate enough to have known him. God Bless you, Jerry and your wonderful family.

Very shocked and deeply saddened to read and hear about Judge Massell. Jerry was an outstanding fixture in the courtroom both as an attorney as well as a judge. He was an even greater fixture in our Monmouth County community and respected By all with whom he had contact.
