...O God, your Sea is so big and my boat is so small.("A Fisherman's Prayer") Ed, you and I grew up just three blocks away from one another and sometimes you happily went out of your way to drive me to school in your Volkswagon Bug. I probably rode in all your boats, too, even though I never much liked boats or even water. It's funny, though, that even when we went aground and Geri did her allakazam to set us free, I had fun and told you so. I love how you measured every fish caught and threw the little guys back in as you were supposed to, I also remember the horse kept in your garage and ridden right into Manhattan...I still savor that Bonanza-like smell. I think you know that Joe and I got married after you cornered him leaving my place in the wee hours and asked him his intentions. A long time ago, dear Ed, but I'm thrilled we got to sail along together so many years enjoying some happy holidays and even your final birthday. A nursing instructor once told me that what's important in life is what we do between the funerals, and Ed, it was a party just to be near you! Wishing love on your journey!!!
