Charles M. Lenartowicz, 86, passed away Friday, August 4 in Red Bank. Born to George and Mary Anne Turpak Lenartowicz in Elizabeth NJ, Charles was a resident of Roselle New Jersey before moving to Lincroft in 1977. Charles was a communicant of St. Leo RC Church. He was a U.S. Army Korean War Veteran and was a U.S. Post Office employee for 30 years before retiring in 1989.
He loved dining out and enjoyed Monmouth Park and Atlantic City. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed traveling to New England. But most of all he enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren who he loved more than anything. After retirement, he worked as a security guard for Prudential in Holmdel where he made many friends.
Charles is predeceased by his parents; a sister Dolores Marcon; and a brother Stanley
Lenartowicz. He is survived by his wife of 60 years Dorothy Stephanik Lenartowicz, a son Richard Lenartowicz; a daughter Heidi and her husband James Soldo; and by grandchildren: Richard Lenartowicz and Valerie Lenartowicz and Kristin Wright and Daniel Wright.
Visitation is Wednesday, August 9, from 4 – 8 p.m. at the John E. Day Funeral Home, 85
Riverside Ave., Red Bank, NJ. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, August 10 at 10 O’Clock a.m. at St. Anthony of Padua RC Church, Bridge Ave., Red Bank. Burial will follow at 2 p.m. at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veteran’s Cemetery, Arneytown, NJ.
