Barbara Morelli

Barbara Morelli, 75, passed away on Tuesday, July 15, 2014 at Riverview Medical Center in Red Bank.  She was born in San Diego, CA to the late Stanley and Mary Sovinski.  She lived in Jersey City before moving to Middletown 40 years ago.  Barbara was a wonderful cook and according to her grandchildren her best dish was her homemade chicken soup. She loved to go to Atlantic City. Her most recent trip was with her four daughters to celebrate her 75th birthday. Upon her passing, she gave the gift of sight by donating her eyes to the eye bank of NJ; because of her amazing gift someone will now be able to see the world as beautifully as she did.

She is predeceased by her loving husband, Anthony Morelli.   Surviving are her four wonderful daughters and son-in-laws; Mary Ellen and David Stavola, Barbara-Ann and Kurt Davis, Elaine and David Thomas and Michele and Robert Machion. Also surviving are her 8 grandchildren who have given her as much joy as she had to them, Michele and David J. Stavola Jr., Amanda and David George Thomas Jr., Kurt Anthony and Kathryn Davis, Anthony and Andrew Machion. She will be greatly missed by her loving Tulip Lane family, her dear friend Joan Grzyb and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at the John E. Day Funeral Home, 85 Riverside Avenue, Red Bank, NJ 07701 on Friday, July 18, 2014 from 6 to 9 PM. The family will be gathering at the funeral home on Saturday, July 19, 2014 at 10:00 AM and a service will begin at 11: 00 AM.  Entombment will follow at Mt.
