William R. Haas, 67, of Monmouth Beach, NJ passed away suddenly on Friday, January 31. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Sharon, sons Andrew and Doug, and beloved dogs Coal and Jessie. He is also survived by his brother and sister-in-law Richard and Janice Haas, his brother-in-law and sister-in-law Stan and Rosemarie Plant, and his sister-in-law, Deborah Haas, as well as three nieces and a nephew.
Will grew up in Carteret and Seaside Park. He graduated from Stockton State College, earned a masters degree at Indiana University and was employed by the County of Monmouth until his retirement several years ago. Known affectionately as Papa Haas, Will was an avid nature lover and fisherman, loved boating and was happiest when in, on or near the ocean.
A celebration of life will be held from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm and a 6:30 PM prayer service on Wednesday, February 5th at the John E. Day Funeral Home, 85 Riverside Ave., Red Bank, NJ 07701.
