Victor G. Pellegrini, 91, of Cedar Village and formerly of Staten Island passed away peacefully in his home at Brighton Gardens in Middletown on November 18, 2018. He was born in the Bronx to the late Pirello Pellegrini and Espidita (Muzii) Pellegrini.
Victor proudly served our country in the US Army. He retired from the printing industry in 1989. Victor bred and raced Homing Pigeons most of his life; he loved tropical aquarium fish and was a Surf Fisherman. He was a member of the Richmond Boro Racing Club, Golden Oldies Bowling League and the McGuire League.
Victor was predeceased by his beloved wife of 69 years, Ida (Violanti) Pellegrini in March, his grandson John Pillarella IV and his sisters Lola Pellegrini and Norma Bonamo. He is survived by his loving children Victor Peter Pellegrini of Bridgewater and Lola Pellegrini Pillarella (John) of Lincroft. Also, surviving is his sister Dorine Pellegrini Trivelli (Matthew) of Staten Island; his adoring grandchildren Michael Crismali, Victor E. Pellegrini, Matthew P. Pellegrini and Ravenna Pillarella Garofola and his great-grandchildren Riley and Noah Crismali, Zelina and Sophia Pellegrini.
A Visitation will be held at the of John E. Day Funeral Home, Red Bank, NJ on Friday, November 23, 2018 from 5-9 PM. Interment will take place at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Staten Island at 9:30 AM on Saturday, November 24, 2018 with a Memorial Service to follow at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Middletown at 11AM.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to be made in Victor’s name to Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675-8517 and/or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Attn: Memorial Processing, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
