Tarmo Tammaru

Tarmo “Tam” Tammaru, 85, of Elberon, passed away on Spetember 17, 2022 at Monmouth Medical Center. Tam was born in Parnu, Estonia to Philip A. and Aino (Ernits) Tammaru.

He attended Wittenberg College in Springfield, OH later earning his Bachelor’s degree from University of Toledo and then his Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from New York University.

Tam joined Bell Labs in Holmdel as an electrical engineer and spent over 40 years with the company and as a private contractor.

In 1980 he was predeceased by his wife Ellen Hope (Yates) Tammaru and later by his son-in-law, Thomas Kerns. He is survived by his daughters; Katrin “Katy” Kerns of Elberon and Jeanette “Jenni” Oliveri of Longwood, FL, as well as, his only grandson, Alex Oliveri.

A funeral service will be held on Thurs., Sept., 22, 2022 at noon at The Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, 112 Middletown Rd., Holmdel, NJ. Burial will follow at Fait View Cemetery in Middletown.
