Robert V. Henry, 82, of Red Bank, passed away on September 25, 2020. He was born in Jersey City, NJ to the late John and Carolyn Henry. Bob lived in Edison, NJ for 50 years prior to settling in Red Bank two years ago. He served in the Army Reserves from 1956 to 1963. Shortly thereafter, he began his career in the Accounting Department with Western Electric and AT&T retiring from Lucent Technologies in Berkeley Heights after 38 years. He loved to play golf and was extremely proud of his three holes-in-one. Bob enjoyed reading, gardening and woodworking. He was a huge history buff and had a talent for remembering specific dates and events which came in handy when helping his grandchildren with school projects. He also volunteered his time with the Telephone Pioneers of America.
He is predeceased by his infant son, Mark and his siblings, Catherine, Carolyn, Mary and John. Surviving is his beloved wife of 56 years, Catherine Spelman Henry, his loving children, Robert, his wife Georgianna, and Maureen, her husband Tim Regan, and his cherished grandchildren, Samantha, Matthew, Douglas, Philip, Timmy, Katie and Brendan.
A visitation will be held at the John E. Day Funeral Home, 85 Riverside Avenue, Red Bank, NJ 07701 on Wednesday September 30, 2020 from 8:45 – 9:45 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Leo the Great RC Church in Lincroft at 10:15 a.m. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Middletown. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be sent in Robert’s memory to ALSAC/St. Jude Children's Research 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105 USA.
