Peter A. Paone

Peter A. Paone, 85, of Lincroft, passed away peacefully on August 25, 2019 at Riverview Medical Center in Redbank. He was the husband of Joan (Gilmartin) Paone, to whom he was married  for 44 years.

Born in New York, he was the son of the late Peter and Margaret (Tafuri) Paone., and brother of the late Carol Gatto.

Peter was a veteran of The United States Navy and a member of The Elks Club of Bronx, NY and The American Legion.

  He was a bar manager at The Casa Hofbrau  Restaurant in Emerson, N.J. for nineteen years, in addition to owning a business as an electrician on a part time basis. Most recently, Peter enjoyed his time working at The Brielle Marina.  He loved hunting, baseball and football and was a devoted fan of the New York Yankees. Most of all, he loved spending time with family and friends.

In addition to his wife Joan, Peter is survived by two sons, Jim and his partner Kim, Peter, a daughter, Dawn Botti and her husband Mike, two step sons, Kevin Newell and his wife Patti, Brian Newell and his wife Gina, a step daughter, Kim Ricard, a sister Peggy Letchworth, fifteen grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

There will be a visitation on Tuesday September 3, 2019 from 4-8 PM at the John E. Day Funeral Home 85 Riverside Ave. Red Bank, N.J.  A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday September 4, 2019, 10:15 AM at St. Leo the Great Roman Catholic Church in Lincroft.  Interment will immediately follow at the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery in Arneytown, N.J.
