Peter Konrad Muehlan, age 81 of Middletown, New Jersey passed peacefully at his home on May 19th. Born in Neisse, East Germany (now Poland), Peter grew up in Weissenfels, East Germany where, at the age of 14, he became an electrical apprentice. Upon completion he worked for Siemens in Nurnenberg, attended night school and received a degree in electrical engineering. In 1965 he immigrated to New Jersey where he worked building electrical control panels for Casale Industries, Garwood, NJ. In 1971 he founded PKM Panel Systems which he owned and operated until selling in 1984. Peter maintained strong bonds to his native land, enthusiastically sharing his German culture, music, food and beer. An avid soccer, hockey, football & tennis fan, Peter also loved travel, the stock market and to sing and play accordion to his beloved German songs. Never married, “Uncle Pete” positively influenced and developed lifelong bonds with several people most especially the Klayman brothers, Elden, Lester and Monti. A devoted son, he had an addition built on his home where his mother, Maria “Oma”, lived independently under his watchful eye until her death in 1994.

Peter is survived by 2 sisters, Regina Albert of Furth and Barbara Schumacher of Hamburg, Germany as well as many nieces and nephews on both continents. He was predeceased by brother Bernhard in 1949 and sister Annelies in 2006.

There will be a visitation on Tuesday, June 8, 2021 from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM with a prayer service at 11:30 AM at the John E. Day Funeral Home 85 Riverside Ave. Red Bank, N.J. Interment to follow at the Fair View Cemetery in Middletown, N.J.
