Peter J. McCue departed this life after a long illness on July 15, 2018. He is survived by his siblings, Vincent J. McCue, Jr. of Brick; James A. McCue of Middletown; Marie Collins of Colts Neck; Paul T. McCue of Shrewsbury and Teresa McCue of Red Bank, along with 10 loving nieces and nephews and numerous friends. A recital of Peter’s surviving kin; however, does not in any way do justice to his lively personality or the manner in which he lived his life. Certain traits of his come quickly to mind: outstanding athlete, affable nature, inventive home cook, boyish good looks, surfer, great Irish conversationalist, witty and charming.
His love of sun, fishing and sport drew him to Florida for much of his young adult life; however, he returned many years ago to his birthplace in Red Bank, for most of his life, ever enjoying its memories and unique offerings.
When thinking of Peter, remember the words of Robert Louis Stevenson “That man is a success who has lived well, laughed often and loved much.”
John E. Day Funeral Home in Red Bank will be the site of his wake from 2-4 and 7-9 on Thursday July 19th and the funeral will be held at St. Anthony’s Roman Catholic Church in Red Bank on Friday July 20th at 10:00 a.m. Private Interment will be held at a later date.
