Pamela Helen Shay

Pamela Helen Shay, 80, of Middletown, passed away on January 22, 2022 at Riverview Medical Center. Pamela was born to Maurice and Margaret (nee: Milliken) Bishop on March 16, 1941 in Glen Ridge, NJ.

In her younger years, Pamela enjoyed the outdoors and doing activities such as camping, spending summers on the beach and snowmobiling. She loved spending time reading books at the kitchen table. Always a green thumb, Pam spent countless hours over the years tending to her houseplants and gardens. Pam also supported the Rumson Fire Department as a member of the Ladies Auxiliary. Nothing brought her greater joy than spending time with her family and friends.

Pamela is preceded in death by her parents; Maurice and Margaret Bishop and her husband of 35 years, Robert J. Shay.

Surviving Pamela are her two children; Lisa Mowery of Middletown, NJ and Robert Shay and his wife Yvette of Tampa, FL, her sister Deborah Bornstein of Ocean Township, NJ, nieces Pam, Jill, Jen and Niff, nephew Chuck and grandchildren Ashley, Kyle, Sadie and Ryan.

Family and Friends are kindly invited to attend a memorial gathering on Friday, February 4 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the John E. Day Funeral Home, 85 Riverside Avenue, Red Bank, NJ. A service at the funeral home will take place at 5:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Pamela’s memory to The Rumson Fire Department or the American Lung Association.
