Nicholas Anthony Codispoti
1941-2021

Nicholas A. Codispoti, a noted philanthropist, businessman and entrepreneur, passed away peacefully Thursday, November 11, 2021, with his beloved family by his side. 

Born in Red Bank, New Jersey to the late Anthony and Teresa Codispoti, Nick was a longtime resident of Little Silver, NJ and Naples Fl.

Nick earned his undergraduate and graduate degree from Seton Hall University before moving to a highly successful, fifty-year career in the securities and investment industry. He served as Chairman and CEO of several brokerage firms and executive positions with Merrill Lynch and Prudential Securities. His interests included real estate and land development, where he held ownership and management positions in New Jersey and Florida. 

Nick’s heart was in helping others.  He remained a proponent and strong advocate of community service throughout his life.  His contributions are many, and include involvement with diverse organizations such as The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, The Cal Ripken Jr. Foundation, The Raleigh Tavern Society of Williamsburg, Family and Children’s Services, Gift of Life, Habitat for Humanity, Hope Chest Scholarship Fund, Jersey Shore Medical Foundation, Meridian Health Systems, Lions Club, The Phoenix Karate-do Association Kyokushinkai International, Monmouth and Ocean Development Council, Little League, The Babe Ruth League, Red Bank Fire Department, Salvation Army, and Special Olympics. A recipient of numerous awards and honors, he was bestowed the prestigious Rotarian Paul Harris Fellow Award and the United Way’s Man of the Year Award. At the time of his death, he served as the President and Trustee of the Codispoti Family Foundation.

Nick was a loving and remarkably caring man who was greatly admired for possessing one of life’s greatest virtues of making others feel significant. Through kind words a heartfelt compliment or a joke to make you laugh.  Nick always put a smile on your face. 

He had a tremendous love of travel and playing golf. He was a longtime member of Deal Golf and Country Club and The Club at Medittera.  He will be deeply missed by his loving wife, children, grandchildren and many close friends.

Nick is survived by his wife Joyce, of 55 years, his sisters Victoria Ciambrone and Gloria Soldo, his daughter Dawn Edwards and her husband Monte; son Anthony Codispoti and his wife Michelle; daughter Debbie Pantaleone and her husband Alfred; daughter Nicole Codispoti; and his 10 grandchildren Nicole, Danielle, Alexandra, Sarah, Emma, Jordan, Nicholas, Corrado, Allegra and Michael.

In Lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made in Nick’s name to St Jude Children’s research hospital. www.stjude.org.

There will be a visitation on Tuesday, November 16, 2021 from 4-8 PM at the John E. Day Funeral Home 85 Riverside Ave. Red Bank, N.J. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, November 17, 2021 at 11 AM at St. Anthony of Padua R.C. Church in Red Bank, N.J. Interment will immediately follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Middletown, N.J.
