Muriel R. Hemschoot, 89, of Red Bank passed away in Atlantic Highlands. She was born in Newark to the late Frederick and Ruth (Morrison)Rembert.
Muriel was a graduate of Weequahic H.S. class of 1947, following graduation Muriel went to work for Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea Company where she worked in the bakery and billing departments. She ended her working career as Deli manager at Acme Supermarket in Fair Haven. She was a communicant of First Presbyterian Church Tower Hill in Red Bank. Muriel loved traveling the world by cruise ships; she was president of Red Bank Hook and Ladder Auxiliary and Fair Haven Seniors. She also volunteered at Lunch Break, the Girl Scouts and Monmouth Medical Breast Cancer Center.
Muriel was predeceased by her beloved husband Thomas M. Hemschoot in 1977 and her son Mark Hemschoot in 2001. She is survived by her loving daughter Carol R. Bossio and her adoring grandsons Jeffrey and David. Also, surviving are several great grandchildren.
All services are private under the direction of John E. Day Funeral Home, 85 Riverside Ave, Red Bank, NJ.
