Our beloved son, Michael Riley DeOliveira, 15, of Middletown NJ, lost his battle with depression and passed away early December 4th, 2021.
Michael was a sophomore at Middletown South and a long-time soccer player for Middletown Attack, acting as their goalkeeper and captain. He was an excellent player looking to play for college and beyond. He was a remarkable athlete and true leader on and off the field.
His personality was one of a kind and to know him was to love him. He had an enormous heart and wanted nothing more than to make those around him happy. His laughter was contagious and that sound will forever fill our hearts. He was a fiercely loyal friend, an incredibly loving son and brother, and the most beautiful soul.
Michael is survived by his grieving parents, siblings, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousin, extended family, and a multitude of friends and teammates. He is preceded by his grandmother with whom he was very close, and who is undoubtedly there to embrace him in heaven.
The grief of losing him is as endless and boundless as our love for him. May he rest now in the sweetest peace.
A wake will be held on Wednesday, December 8th at John Day Funeral Home, 85 Riverside Ave Red Bank, NJ 07701 from 1:00PM – 3:00PM and 5:00PM – 9:00PM.
