Mary Patricia Hawkins

Mary Patricia Hawkins of Lincroft, New Jersey passed away on May 11, 2023 at JFK University Medical Center in Edison, NJ after a short illness. She was the daughter of the late George Francis and Mary Patricia (nee Brennan) Hawkins. She is survived by her older brother Daniel and his wife Kay, and her nephews James and Shawn of Bloomingdale New Jersey, her older sister Kathleen, older brother Brian, and younger brother John and his wife Tenly, all of Lincroft.
Mary Pat was born on November 29, 1960 in Red Bank, New Jersey and was a graduate of St. Leo the Great grammar school and Red Bank Catholic High School. She was a cross country runner while at RBC. She later enlisted in the Navy, serving in the Mediterranean Fleet while stationed at Gaeta. In addition to her usual duties as a signalman, she was her lifeboat section’s designated “shark shooter”. After her discharge she attended Brookdale Community College and received her Associates Degree. Her most recent employment was with MJM Services as an Administrative Assistant.
Mary Pat had a life-long love of marine life and would often present her nephews with maritime-themed gifts. She was a caring and loving daughter, sister, and aunt and will be dearly missed.
Visitation will be on Friday, May 26 between 4:00pm and 8:00pm, with a service at 6:00pm at the John E. Day Funeral Home at 85 Riverside Avenue in Red Bank, New Jersey.
