Mark Ulyicsni, 65, of Red Bank, NJ passed away on December 27, 2021 at home. Mark was born on October 13, 1956 to George and Ella (nee: Nieder) Ulyicsni in Long Branch, NJ.
Mark was father to six and grandfather to seven. By trade he was a digger and tree man. He prided himself on moving massive plants and trees. The home he left behind holds tons of trees and plants he nursed to health or even started as twigs; a keepsake of his decades of tree work. Much like a TV character his look never changed. He always wore a leather jacket, steel toe boots, jeans, and a red bandana across his forehead. He proudly displayed his beard and ponytail, always going against the norm of conventional society. Throughout town he was known by much of the homeless and struggling, he often provided socks, food, money and at times a place of refuge. His kindness and empathy will live on through his children. He will be missed by all and mourned by many.
Mark is predeceased by his parents George and Ella Ulyicsni.
Surviving Mark are his children; Elizabeth Gisleson, Rachel Giselson and husband Devon, Zach Gisleson, Michael Gisleson, Elijah Gisleson Ulyicsni, and Jeremy Ulyicsni and wife Alana all life long residents of NJ, his seven loving grandchildren, and his brother David Ulyicsni and wife Karen and their two children Max and Alexandria of SC.
Friends and family are invited to visit for a memorial on Saturday, January 15, 2022 from 1 PM to 4 PM at the John E. Day Funeral Home, 85 Riverside Avenue. Memories and condolences may be shared at www.johnedayfuneralhome.com
