Marie Zaleski, 83, of Middletown, formerly of Richmond Hill, New York, passed away on March 17, 2021. She was born in New York, New York to the late Umberto and Teresa (Galli) Fabiitti.
Marie enjoyed reading, knitting, playing Scrabble, watching old movies and musicals, volunteering at her parishes - including Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Queens, NY, and at the food pantry of St. Anthony’s in Red Bank. She also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. Marie started her career at Metropolitan Life, “Mother Met.” She then was a homemaker and a mother. Later in life, she worked at Woolworth’s in Richmond Hill, New York.
She is predeceased by her siblings, Alfonso, Donato, Ernest, and John.
Surviving is her beloved husband, Albert Zaleski, her loving daughters, Maria Gruspier and her husband Charles, Laura Maloney and her husband Patrick, her cherished grandchildren, Joshua, his wife Alison, Daniel, Hannah, Andrew, Megan, Caroline, her many dear nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held at the John E. Day Funeral Home, 85 Riverside Avenue, Red Bank, NJ 07701, on Sunday March 21, 2021, from 4 -7 p.m., and Monday March 22, 2021, from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary, Mother of God Church, Middletown, NJ, on Tuesday March 23, 2021, at 10am, with interment to follow at St. John’s Cemetery in Middle Village, Queens, New York.
