Marie Louise Tarricone

It is with great sadness that the family of Marie Louise Soviero Tarricone announces her passing on February 4, 2022, at the age of 85.

Marie was born to the late Nicholas and Jean (Vernaglia) Soviero, October 21, 1936, in Red Bank, New Jersey. Marie Attended River Street School and graduated from Red Bank High School in 1954 before attending Monmouth College. She married the late, Dominic Tarricone in 1959 and they resided in Shrewsbury together for 29 years.

Marie was an active member in the community schools and at St. Anthony's Church in Red Bank. She served on the Supervisory Board at Red Bank Regional High School, PTO/PTA member, and worked for the Board of Elections for many years. Her career began with the Progressive Life Insurance Company, Red Bank. From there she worked for the US Government at Earle Naval Base and Ft. Monmouth for 28 years, retiring in 1988. While there, she received numerous awards for her work as a payroll clerk and secretary. Marie served on the Board of Directors for the Monmouth Credit Union for 10 years. She then worked for Stewart Associates in Lincroft, NJ for three years and then was hired to work at Brookdale Community College as an office Assistant for 22 years. Marie finally retired at the age of 79, and her colleagues stated on her retirement cake: "She did it her way".

Family and friends were Marie's passion and delight. She always enjoyed after retirement, lunch with the girls. If you knew Marie, the number 1 in her life was her great granddaughter, her granddaughter and her three grandsons. Next came Frank Sinatra, her elephant collection, New York Yankees, and her travel adventures to Atlantic City, Las Vegas, and the Atlantis. From the time she was in high school she always wanted to travel and that she did, no moss ever gathered under her feet. Marie had a heart of gold and will always be remembered for always being there for anyone in need.

Marie was preceded in death by her father, Nicholas Soviero, her loving mother, Jean Vernaglia Soviero; her sister Antonette; her brother, Anthony, and her husband Dominic Tarricone. After her husband died in 1989, Marie met Gary Homer, her traveling companion of 18 years.

Marie will be lovingly remembered by her sister, Camella Brown of Massachusetts. Daughters, Jean Marie (Stanley Buck) of Myrtle Beach, SC, and Denise (John Molnar) of Howell, NJ. She is also survived by her three grandchildren, Christopher Buck (Ashley), Myrtle Beach and Matthew (Carlie) and Kevin Molnar, Howell and great grandchild Brielle Buck, Myrtle Beach SC. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, Godchildren along with numerous cousins and loving friends.

Goldfinch Funeral Home, Conway, SC and John Day Funeral Home, Red Bank, NJ are assisting the family with arrangements.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in New Jersey on April 23, 2022 at 11 AM at St. Anthony of Padua Church in Red Bank, N.J.
