Margarita Solorzano Martinez

Tribute

On Friday February 17th, Margarita Solorzano Martinez, born to Luis and Elvia Solorzano, loving wife, mother, and grandmother, peacefully passed away at home while surrounded by her family. She was 81 and is survived by her husband Miguel Martinez, her children Luis, Miguel, Jorge and her beautiful grandchildren. Also surviving are her two younger brothers Carlos and Alfredo Solorzano.

Margarita was born on March 17th 1941, in Cali Colombia. She was a first generation immigrant to the United States in 1964, director of human resources for a multinational bank for 25 years in Manhattan, NY. On September 25, 1964 she married Miguel Martinez, lived in Brooklyn, Staten Island, and eventually settled in Lincroft, New Jersey in the mid 70's, where she raised her family and eventually retired.

Margarita loved to dance, travel, and spend time with her friends and family. Most of all she enjoyed sharing her unwavering support, love, and commitment to friends and family alike.

A Memorial Mass will be held Saturday, March 11 at 10:00am at St. James RC Church, 94 Broad Street, Red Bank. The Mass will be livestreamed and can be viewed by accessing St. James' main website at https://sjredbank.org/
