Margaret "Midge" Coolahan, 87, of Little Silver, and formerly a longtime resident of Red Bank, passed peacefully in her sleep on Tuesday, Aug. 1, 2017 surrounded by loving family members. Midge was born in Hoboken, NJ to Edward and Marguerite Stack, and moved to Red Bank in 1963. She was a longtime member of the Monmouth Beach Bath and Tennis Club and was an avid tennis player in her younger years. Later in life she enjoyed the company of her friends playing bridge each week. Midge's true passion though was her family and was rarely absent from the sidelines of one of her children’s or grandchildren’s many sporting or other events over the years.
Midge was predeceased by her loving husband Jim and beloved son Jimbo. She leaves behind her daughters and their spouses, Nora Coolahan-Nooney and Brian, Mary (Peggy) Driscoll and Terence, and Elizabeth Fortier and Mike; her sons and spouses, Edward and Susan, Kevin and Lori, Michael and Jessica, and John and Nicole; her daughter-in-law Nancy; her treasured grandchildren, Katie, Justin, Kelli, Sean, Meagan, Michael, Shannon, Taylor, Ted, Ryan, Mollie, Maddie, Maggie, Cara, Rylee, Gracie and great-grandchildren, Lucas and Sadie.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Saturday August 5, 2017 at 11:00 am at St. James R.C. Church, Red Bank. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Margaret’s memory to The National Pancreas Foundation, 3 Bethesda Metro Center, Suite 700, Bethesda, MD. 20814.
