Lorraine Schiavone

May 22, 1940 ~ May 9, 2020 (age 79) 79 Years Old

Tribute

Lorraine Schiavone passed away peacefully in her sleep Saturday May 9th, 2020 at the age of seventy nine. She is survived by her three children, Christopher, Cora and Elissa, her six grandchildren and two great-grandsons.

In her later and final years she was a resident of Pennsylvania where she enjoyed the peace and solitude of the Poconos; some friendly neighbors, her perfect cup of coffee and feeding the deer that would appear in her yard.

Lorraine grew up in Nutley, NJ with her mother Ruth, father Milford, brother Ed and three sisters Jean, Ruth and Patty. She loved walking through the park after school, especially when the cherry blossoms were in bloom. She married in 1959 at the age of 18, a beautiful bride with dark wavy hair and hazel eyes.

She would live in NJ with her family for many years; always creating a beautiful home for all and always plenty of beloved pets abound. Horseback riding and family gatherings, skiing trips to Colorado and Disney World vacations were just some of her wonderful offerings and cherished memories she would give to her family. Lorraine became a special education teacher; children made her smile more than any one thing. Later in life she would live in California and Florida enjoying sailing, writing, painting, cooking, gardening, whale watching in Baja and all of nature’s beauty.

As her family grew, she wanted to be closer to them, so she moved back up north, and the Poconos seemed an ideal choice. She adored her six grandchildren and the beautiful connections she had with them. She loved her nieces and nephews; and her love and pride of family was displayed in the numerous faces within picture frames scattered throughout her home.

In her final years she was able to hold her two great-grandsons in her arms, which brought that enormous wonderful smile to her face.

A creative, strong, loving, independent woman. A unique beautiful soul who will be missed and loved eternally.
