Caravella, Lawrence “Larry” 62 of Middletown, N.J. passed away peacefully on Monday, August 16, 2021. Larry was born in Brooklyn, N.Y.. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1976 to 1980. Larry was an elevator mechanic with P.S. Marcato Elevator, Inc. for 40 years and parishioner at St. Anthony of Padua R.C Church in Red Bank.
Larry was a loving father, a devoted husband, a caring son, and the best brother. He loved to spend time at the beach, work around the house, and always said yes to a homecooked meal. The time he cherished most was spent with his family.
He is predeceased by his mother, Margaret M. (Costello) Smith and his brother, Skip Smith.
Larry is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Anne (DiComo) Caravella; his three daughters, Nicole Caravella Pagano and her husband Anthony Jr., Danielle Caravella and Michelle Caravella; two brothers, Tommy Smith and his wife Kathleen, and James Caravella and his wife Natasha; two sisters, Joyce Katzman and her husband Mel and Kathleen Soto and her husband Joseph and many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.
There will be a memorial gathering on Friday, August 20, 2021 from 4-8 PM at the John E. Day Funeral Home 85 Riverside Ave. Red Bank, N.J. A memorial mass will be held on Saturday, August 21, 2021 at 10 AM at St. James R.C. Church in Red Bank. Interment will immediately follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Middletown.
