Josephine Mandrick (nee D’Annunzio) was born on January 7, 1927 in Union City and entered eternal life on December 23, 2021 in Red Bank. Josephine married the love of her life, Joseph Mandrick, on June 4, 1949 and they enjoyed many happy years together in Union City, Ridgefield Park, and Long Branch until he passed on April 2, 2013. Josephine displayed endless faith in God and great love for her family. She was also a gifted singer and sketch artist and cooked a mean lasagna.
Josephine is survived by her daughter Mary Ann Kampfe, her “favorite” son-in-law John, and grandchildren Gregory and Veronica as well as her devoted brother Gabriel (Gabe) D’Annunzio and dear sister-in-law Anna (Ann) D’Annunzio. Also mourning her loss are many loving and devoted nieces, nephews, and cousins. Josephine will be greatly missed by members of the extended Kampfe family – with whom she shares so many cherished memories – and by the dear friends she made at HMH Nursing and Rehabilitation in Red Bank, where she resided since 2017 and was cared for beautifully by all.
The family would like to thank the staff at HMH Red Bank and HMH Hospice for compassionate care, devotion, friendship, and support.
Family and friends are invited to visit on Tuesday, December 28, 2021 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the John E. Day Funeral Home, 85 Riverside Ave, Red Bank, NJ. A service will take place at the funeral home at 2:30 PM. Burial will be private.
