Jonathan E. Rose

Jonathan E. Rose, 40 of Middletown passed away suddenly on November 30, 2017 while vacationing in Costa Rica. Jonathan was a lifelong resident of New Jersey, growing up in Kearny and Toms River. He graduated from Villanova University in 1999. He moved to Hoboken before settling in Middletown in 2016. Jonathan was a pharmaceutical sales representative for over 14 years, most recently with Novartis.

Jonathan had a lifelong passion for sports. From the time he could swing a bat and throw a ball, he played little league baseball. In Toms River, he set a number of pitching records for the time he played at Toms River East High School. Following that, his passion was volleyball and he was a member of numerous competitive volleyball leagues. He enjoyed traveling and never passed up an opportunity to visit friends and explore new places. Jonathan was also involved in fundraising for the National MS Society, American Cancer Society and Equine Therapy.

Jonathan is pre-deceased by his Grandmother, Jeanette Kelly, his Uncle, Bud Kelly and his Aunt, Sandra Kelly.

Surviving are his mother, Sherry Finn (nee Kelly) and his step-father Robert Finn of Little Silver and his sister and brother-in-law Danielle and Giancarlo Sette of Rutherford. Also surviving are his beloved niece, Giada and nephew, Giancarlo Jr. whom they affectionately referred to Jonathan as ‘Uncle Monkey Face.’ Jonathan also leaves his beloved Aunts and cousins.

A Celebration of Jonathan’s life will be held at John E. Day Funeral Home, 85 Riverside Avenue, Red Bank, NJ, on Sunday December 10, 2017 from 2 PM to 6 PM. A Memorial Service will be held at the funeral home on Monday December 11, 2017 at 10:30 AM. Internment will be private.
