Joan A. Paone

Joan A. Paone 76, of Lincroft, passed away peacefully on January 7, 2021 at Riverview Medical Center in Redbank, New Jersey. She was pre-deceased by her beloved husband, Peter A. Paone, to whom she was married for 44 years. Born in New York, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Lottie Gilmartin and sister of the late Dolores Wooleyhan (Crookston).

In her earlier years, she took great pleasure greeting, serving and making new friends, while working for several upscale restaurants in northern New Jersey. Later, in her Golden years, she found enjoyment traveling the country with her soulmate and best friend. and becoming managers in the RV Parks and Recreation industry. Most recently, Joan worked as a medical receptionist for Dr. Anthony Michael Burniewicz, whom she affectionately called, “Dr. B.” She loved cooking, gardening and sitting around a campfire with good friends. She could often be found at the kitchen table completing arts and craft projects with her grandchildren. While she enjoyed watching baseball and football, she used to call herself, a “Yankees and Jets widow,” on Sundays. Most of all, Joan loved spending time with family and friends.

Joan is survived by two sons, Kevin and his wife Patti, Brian and his wife Gina, a daughter, Kim Ricard, two stepsons, James Paone, Peter Paone, and stepdaughter Dawn, fifteen grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and many beloved family members and special friends.

There will be a visitation on Thursday, January 14, 2021 from 5-7 PM at the John E. Day Funeral Home, 85 Riverside Ave. Red Bank, N.J. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, January 15, 2021, 10:15 AM at St. Leo the Great Roman Catholic Church in Lincroft. Burial will immediately follow at the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery in Arneytown, N.J.
