Jeanne E. Nilsen-Weed

Jeanne E. Nilsen of Delray Beach, FL passed away September 2nd at Hospice of the Comforter in Altamonte Springs, FL. Born in 1923, Jeanne grew up in Brooklyn, NY, where she met her perfect match, Walter, while roller skating. Married in 1949, they ‘skated together’ for 53 years, making a life in Walden, Mastic Beach and Center Moriches, NY, and ultimately retiring to Delray Beach.

After Walter’s passing in 2002, Jeanne was lucky enough to find love a second time with longtime friend Paul R Weed, a Canadian ‘snowbird’ and recent widower himself. They were married in 2003 and shared adventures in Canada and the US for 13 happy years.

Jeanne was predeceased by her husband, Walter, her sister, Joan Duffy, and numerous in-laws and cousins, but leaves behind to celebrate her life her daughter, Janet Smith of Windermere, FL, her son, Roy, his wife Annette and grandsons Jason Endreson and David Nilsen of Seaside Park, NJ, and her second husband, Paul Weed and his family of Canada.

Services will be private through the John E. Day Funeral Home of Red Bank, NJ with burial at St. John’s Cemetery in Middle Village, NY. Donations may be made in her name to the National Stroke Association, Catholic Charities, or simply think of Jeanne as you pay a kindness forward.
