Irene M. O'Brien

O’Brien,  Irene M. , 92 of Red Bank, N.J. and formerly of Staten Island, N.Y. passed away peacefully on February 3, 2020.  She was born in Manhattan, N.Y .  Irene loved children. After raising her own seven children, Irene was a nanny for many years for the Kaden family of Staten Island.  Irene enjoyed painting  as well as arts and crafts.

She was long time member of St. John the Baptist De La Salle church on Staten Island  and  St Anthony of Padua  in Red Bank. She was a member  the pet club in Shadow Lake Village where she lived happily for 18 years. Most of all, Irene loved spending time with family and friends who admired her sweet and friendly disposition.

She was predeceased by her husband, William F. O’Brien, Sr. and a son, William F. O’Brien, Jr.

Irene is survived by five sons and her daughter and their spouses ;  Kathleen O'Brien (Joseph LoGiudice) ; Daniel ( Annette ), Richard ( Sandi), Michael ( Hope Blumenthal ) ,James ( Barbara ) , Joseph ( Bridget ); 18 Grandchildren and 26 Great Grandchildren. Also many loving spouses of her Grandchildren.

The family wishes to thank the staff of The Willows of Holmdel and Bayshore Health Care Center for their loving care.

There will be a visitation on Friday February 7, 2020 from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM at the John E. Day Funeral Home 85 Riverside Ave. Red Bank, N.J. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday February 8, 2020 at 10 AM at Our Lady of Good Counsel  10 Austin Place Staten Island , N.Y. Interment to follow at St. Peter’s Cemetery in Staten Island, N.Y.
