Harmesh Chander Verma, of Ocean Township, New Jersey, passed away on Friday, December 24, 2021, at the age of 85 years old at Monmouth Medical Center in Long Branch, New Jersey.
Harmesh was born in Mirpur, India on November 2, 1936, to his father Atma Ram Verma and his mother Vasheshran Devi Verma. He was always great at building and constructing things. Harmesh not only designed, but also built the house he lived in for over 30 years with his family. He studied architecture and drafting. Harmesh immigrated to Montreal, Canada in 1966, then later moved to the United States in 1971. He married Nympha Verma and started a family in 1973. He spent most of his life working as an architect and landlord and his hobbies included listening to Indian music, on-line investing, and investing in real-estate.
After the passing of his wife Nympha in 2005, Harmesh met and married his second wife, Wilma in 2010. Harmesh is also preceded in death by both of his parents.
Harmesh is survived by his beloved wife Wilma Verma, his sister Lalita Mehta, daughters Puja Taylor and Priyatee Mattson, their husbands Bill and Geoffrey, stepdaughter Crystal, his grandchildren Lily, Tommy, Larsen, and Logan, his step grandchildren Haley and Houston and his former son-in-law, Tim.
Family and friends may gather on Tuesday, December 28, 2021, from 10:00am – 11:00am at John E. Day Funeral Home, 85 Riverside Avenue, Red Bank, NJ 07701. The service will immediately follow from 11:00am – 12:00pm. For those who wish to attend virtually, a Zoom link will be created. A private cremation will be held directly afterwards.
For those that wish to participate in my dad’s funeral service virtually on Tuesday morning, Dec. 28th, we will be using these links on Google Meets. We originally planned on using Zoom, but those links have shorter durations. So, we decided to go with Google Meets. Each link only lasts for 60 minutes, so that’s why we had to do 2 links. Hopefully there will be no technology issues tomorrow. Unfortunately, we will not be able to handle technology and connectivity issues during the service, so please do not try to call us. However, we are going to try our best to record sections of it. The viewing is scheduled from 10:00am to 10:40am. We do not plan on showing the viewing virtually, but we want to give guests enough time to connect and admit them into the group. The service will begin at 11:00am.
