Geraldine Shenk, 79, passed away at her home in Little Silver on April 6, 2019 while surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Martins Creek, PA to the late Anthony and Theresa (Disidore) Sabatine. She had lived in Montclair as well as West Caldwell (1964-2004) and a summer home in Normandy Beach, NJ (1984) which later she rearchitected and rebuilt along with her husband in 2004.
Geri graduated from Easton High School in 1957 and then received her B.S. Degree at East Stroudsburg College, PA.
She worked as an elementary school teacher and taught for the Montclair school system until 1968. Later, she began an antiques business with her husband (1979-2006).
Her passion to travel with her husband brought her to all 50 States, six trips to Canada, 19 trips to Mexico and the Caribbean Islands, eight times to Europe.
She is predeceased by her parents (1987) and her brother in law, Donald Dilley (1991).
Surviving is her beloved husband, Bruce Shenk, whom she married in 1964 in Hershey, PA; her children and their spouses: Kyle and Danielle Shenk of Atlantic Highlands and Taryn and Michael Lenahan of Little Silver; her sister, Grace Dilley of Basking Ridge and four grandchildren: Tori and Mason Shenk, and Aidan and Aubrey Lenahan.
A visitation with family will be held by the family at her home, 180 Woods End Dr., Little Silver, NJ from 1 to 5PM on Sunday, April 14th. In lieu of flowers, gifts may be made to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in memory of Geraldine Shenk to support cancer research and patient care at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, P.O.
