George L. Mott, III, 64, of Marlboro Township, NJ, and formerly of Middletown NJ, died as a victim of a violent crime on New Year’s Day, 2024. George was born in Red Bank, NJ on March 31, 1959, and lived in Middletown for many years. He was a 1978 graduate of Middletown Township High School South. He was employed as a carpenter for most of his life, working for various Monmouth County construction companies. George was a motorcycle enthusiast and enjoyed Grand Prix and Road Racing. He was a huge fan of the NY Mets and the NY Giants sports teams. George visited the islands in the Caribbean with his friends years ago. He loved the islands so much and he often spoke of going back. George loved classic rock and roll music mostly from the 70s. His favorite bands were Foghat, Led Zeppelin, David Bowie, KISS, and the Rolling Stones. He cared about people and loved getting out with friends to his favorite restaurants, the Pour House and the Brothers.

George was predeceased by his parents George L. and Shirley Mott, and oldest sister Patricia Baksa. Surviving are his son George L Mott IV of Brooklyn, NY, daughter Amanda Lynch of Palm Bay, FL, sisters and brothers-in-law, Susan and John Kelley of Hazlet, Mary and Benjamin Keysper of East Windsor, and brother-in-law Edward Baksa of Point Pleasant. George had 3 nieces, Laura McGovern, Sharon Lokerson and Sarah Keysper Gargiulo, and one nephew Shaune Kelley. He had 4 great nieces, Molly McGovern, Sadie McGovern, Lia Lokerson and Alma Gargiulo, and 3 great nephews Brian Lokerson, Benjamin Gargiulo and August Gargiulo.

George loved children very much and was lovingly referred to as Pop Pop by the children in the family. George also cared for Johnny Gutkowski as if he were his own nephew. George was a gentle soul, had a huge heart, and a great sense of humor. He will be dearly missed by all who loved him. A memorial service for George will be held at a later date.
