Franklin Gerard Liffner “Frank”, 88, a 50-year resident of Red Bank/Middletown, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 25, 2023.
 
Born in St. Albans, Queens to Benjamin and Lauretta Liffner, Frank was one of three children. He grew up in the Bronx and after high school, pursued his life-long career as an electrician with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local #3 in New York City. Frank actively worked with Local #3 for 42 years and was a 70-year member. In his retirement, Frank served as Treasurer for 20 years for the South Jersey Retirees Chapter of Local #3.
 
Frank’s dedication to St. Leo the Great RC Church in Lincroft was another great portion of his life. As a parishioner for 50 years, he also served as an usher for 40 years and was a charter member of the Carnival Committee, serving for many years. Frank was always ready to help a friend, neighbor or his church with any electrical needs. A member of the Knights of Columbus Father McGivney Council #6392, Frank also volunteered with Toys for Tots for the past 15 years. Frank enjoyed golfing and fishing, as well as spending quality time with friends and family over lunch, dinner and cocktails. An avid follower of New York sports, Frank valued watching a Yankee game and was a 28-year season ticket holder for the Giants.
 
Frank is predeceased by his parents, his beloved wife, Mary Patricia Liffner (1995) and his two sisters, Estelle Mesaric and Lorraine Heister.
 
Frank is survived by his loving children, Allyson Archibald and husband Clifford and Michael Liffner and wife Erin, his cherished grandson, Zachary Archibald and his caring niece and nephew, Janis Rasor and husband Dean and Ken Meyer and wife Sheila.
 
Family and friends may visit Tuesday, May 30th from 4:00pm to 6:00pm at the John E. Day Funeral Home, 85 Riverside Avenue, Red Bank. A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, May 31st at 10:15am at St. Leo the Great RC Church, 50 Hurleys Lane, Lincroft, followed by burial at St. Raymond’s Cemetery in the Bronx.
