Francis J. Murphy

Francis J. Murphy 86, of Fair Haven passed away peacefully at home on January 31, 2023. Frank was born to Mary and John Murphy. He graduated from Holy Cross Grammar School and attended Rumson-Fair Haven High School. He served in the United States Air Force. Frank was the last surviving child of Mary Murphy Nepp who founded Murphy’s Tavern of Rumson. He worked for the Two River Water Authority until he retired. He will be incredibly missed by his family and friends.

Frank is predeceased by his daughter, Ann Marie Murphy Perri, his parents, Mary and John, his brother Joseph Murphy, his sisters Anna Mae Porter and Catherine Itri.

Frank is survived by the love of his life Joan (Gray). They have had 59 wonderful years together. He leaves behind three children, James, Diane (Andy) and Elizabeth (Nicole). Six grandchildren, Kesley, Christine, Erin, Ryan, Denver and Willow.

Family and friends may visit from 3-6pm on Monday, February 6, 2023, at John E. Day Funeral Home. 85 Riverside Avenue, Red Bank.
