Francis “Frank” W. Fay, 87, formerly of Elizabeth, passed away peacefully on May 31, 2019. He was born and raised in Elizabeth, NJ to the late John and Ann (Mulcahy) Fay. Frank served our country in the U.S Air Force in Korea. He was a Police Officer in Elizabeth retiring as Lieutenant. Frank, we remember as a loving son, brother, nephew, husband, friend, cousin, Police Officer, Dad, and his favorite and proudest title was when he graduated to Grandfather. A life long residence of Elizabeth, in 2017 he moved to Monmouth County to live with family.
His wife Eileen Fay predeceases Frank in 1998, his siblings John “Jack”, Mary Rose and Eugene. Surviving is his loving daughter Patricia and her husband Joseph Schmittler, his cherished grandson Joseph John, his sisters in law and brother in law, Eileen Fay, Carole Brown, and Tim and Pat O’Leary, his nieces and nephews Pat, Gene, Anne Marie, Mary Eileen, Eric, John, Meghan and many great-nieces and nephews.
Visitations will be held at the John E. Day Funeral Home, 85 Riverside Avenue, Red Bank, NJ 07701 on Monday, June 3, 2019, 4 – 8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary’s Chapel in Middletown, NJ on Tuesday June 4, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at St. Gertrude’s Cemetery in Colonia. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given in Frank’s memory to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, Attn: Memorials Processing, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
