Frances D. DeBonis, 91, of Lakewood passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 21. She was born in Harrison, NJ to the late George and Clara (Dioguardi) Richardson. Frances previously lived in Manchester for 11 years before moving to Lakewood.
She was a parishioner at St. Mary’s, Middletown before becoming a parishioner at St. Luke’s, Toms River. Frances Graduated from St. Mary’s as an RN, and completed studies for bachelor’s degree at Jersey City State College. She then became a school nurse in the Hazlet School System for 25 years before retiring. Frances loved to knit for her grandchildren.
She is predeceased by her husband, Vincent G. DeBonis.
Surviving are her sons Joseph P. DeBonis of Holmdel, and James S. DeBonis and his wife Sandra of Neptune; five grandchildren, Jason (Bethanne), Joseph Jr., James Jr. (Cara), Amanda (Andy) and Matthew; and two great-granddaughters Mya, and Avery.
Visitation will take place on Wednesday, April 25 from 4-8pm at John E. Day Funeral Home, 85 Riverside Avenue, Red Bank. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary Church, 26 Leonardville Road, Middletown on Thursday, April 26 at 10:30 AM followed by a graveside service at Fairview Cemetery, Middletown.
