Filomena (Faye) Benincasa

November 13, 1922 ~ December 13, 2018 (age 96) 96 Years Old

Tribute

Filomena (Faye) Benincasa, 96, of Shrewsbury, formerly of Little Silver, passed away December 13, 2018. She was born in Eatontown to the late Domenic and Adeline Schiafone Manfreda.  Faye was known by her family as a domestic goddess: an excellent cook who also enjoyed shopping, fashion, interior decorating and the company of her toy poodle Godiva. Faye was instrumental in her daughters’ successes, having not even graduated from high school, she pushed and saved for them both to have a higher education and was supportive of all their professional endeavors. She celebrated with pride what she felt were her two biggest accomplishments.

She is predeceased by her beloved husband Benjamin, a veteran and former Regional Postmaster for Red Bank, NJ in 2000. Faye and Ben were childhood sweethearts, both coming from immigrant families. Surviving are her two daughters, Linda Kenney Baden and her husband Dr. Michael Baden of NYC, and Joan Benincasa of Red Bank, her grandson Malachi Christopher Kenney and her great granddaughter Ciara Grace Kenney, both of Oregon- whom she loved with all her heart.

A private service will be held at the John E. Day Funeral Home on Monday December 17, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Middletown.
