Evelyn C. Zarro

Evelyn C. Zarro, 93, of Eatontown since 1977, beloved aunt and sister, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, June 12, 2022 after being lovingly cared for by her family, VNA nurses and aides, whose support, especially from VNA aide Nyree Bland, is deeply appreciated throughout this difficult time.
 
Born in Newark, NJ to Frederick and Catherine Zarro, Evelyn was one of seven children. She was predeceased by her parents, Frederick and Catherine, and by her siblings, Regina Santoro, Margaret Avignone, Rose Lombardi, Edward Zarro and Frederick Zarro. Evelyn is survived by her beloved sister, Elizabeth “Betty” McCarthy, her cherished sister-in-law, Roseann Zarro and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was always so proud of her accomplishment of getting to the 4th Floor of Public Service Electric & Gas in Newark as a Senior Executive Secretary, where she worked for many years. She was also a long-time parishioner of St. Dorothea’s RC Church in Eatontown.
 
It was Evelyn’s wishes to not have viewing services, so all are invited to meet at St. Dorothea’s RC Church, 240 Broad Street, Eatontown on Friday, June 17th where a Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9:30am. Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Middletown.
