Eugenia “Jean” Carroll, of Little Silver, formerly a Oak Hill resident, passed away on Saturday May 6, 2023 at Riverview Medical Center. Jean Ann was born in Newark, NJ to Gustave and Elizabeth (Weckaman) Mayer . Jean was a graduate of Queen of Peace High School in North Arlington and then attended secretarial school.
Jean was a longtime communicant of St. James RC Church in Red Bank and a former communicant of St. Catharine’s RC Church in Holmdel and St. Leo’s RC Church in Lincroft. She enjoyed playing tennis at Shrewsbury Tennis Club and spending time with family and friends at Ship Ahoy Beach Club where she was a member for over 50 years.
She was predeceased by her parents and in 2015 by her beloved husband of 56 years, James A. Carroll.
Jean is survived by her loving children: James Jr. of Little Silver, Kevin of Marco Island, FL, Linda Roche and husband James of Richmond, VA and Karen Malone of Middletown, NJ; her sisters; Patricia Stanzione and husband Philip of Toms River and Kathleen Carroll and husband Thomas of Lake Como, sister-in-law; Helen Lane of Tinton Falls; Grandchildren: Phillip, Nicole, Joshua, Alicia, Tanner, Morgan, Troy and Ian; Great-grandchildren: Taylor, Catherine, Deegan, August, Marlee, Timothy, Leo and Hendrix and many loving nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to visit on Thurs., May 11th from 5-8pm at the John E. Day, Funeral Home, 85 Riverside Avenue, Red Bank.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, May 12th, 11am at St. James RC Church in Red Bank. Interment will be private.
