Enrique Manuel Devoto MD

Enrique M Devoto MD Age 76 passed away at home after a battle with pancreatic cancer on October 29,2021. He was an active parishioner of St James Parish. Enrique was born in Lima,Peru on August 6, 1945 to Guillermo and Sara Devoto. He has a twin Carlos and four other siblings. He received his medical degree from Cayetano University. After graduation he pursued surgical training in the United States at Monmouth Medical Center.

While he completed his training he married Dr. Barbara Courtney. They settled in Middletown NJ and raised three children- James, Teresa, Andrew. He also is survived by three grandchildren – Ava, Abbey, and Thomas whom he dearly loved and they loved him.

For 35 years he was an attending for Monmouth Medical Center. Besides his private practice Dr. Devoto taught the surgical residents, supervised the surgical clinic, and was involved with the formation of the
Jacqueline Wilentz Breast Center.

Apart from surgery he had an avid interest in art, music,and history. He embraced his adopted country and read extensively about American history.

His greatest pride was in his family and he loved them deeply.
   
Memorial Mass will take place at St. James Church in Red Bank, Thursday
November 4, 2021 at 10am.
