Eileen G. Kirsh

Eileen G. Kirsh, 95, passed away from natural causes at Riverview Medical Center in Red Bank on March 12, 2021.  She was surrounded by her loved ones.

She was born in Perth Amboy to the late Alfred and Ella (Joyce) Geiling. She grew up in Metuchen, lived in Fair Haven after getting married, and had been living in Shrewsbury for the last 70 years.

Eileen worked at her parents' store, Wilbur’s Jewelers on Broad Street in Red Bank for many years. She was a devout Catholic and parishioner of St. James Roman Catholic Church in Red Bank.  She was a strong-willed woman who overcame any obstacles life placed in her path.

Her many passions included cooking, gardening and going to the beach, and she prayed the Rosary daily, but her greatest love was her devotion to animals, especially dogs.  She adored decorating for the holidays, even winning a neighborhood Christmas-decorating contest many years ago.

Eileen is predeceased by her parents; her sons: Richard and Kevin Kirsh; her former spouse, Elmer R. Kirsh; a sister and two brothers.

Surviving are her children, Sheila and son-in-law Michael Graham of MD, and Julie Kirsh of

Shrewsbury; a daughter-in-law, Linda Kirsh of Eatontown; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

All arrangements are private and under the care of the John E. Day Funeral Home.
