Tribute

Dominica “Minnie” Marie Pignataro, 100, of Shrewsbury, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by family on March 19th, 2021.

Known by everyone as “Minnie” or “Aunt Min”, she lived a rich and wonderful life. Born in Matawan, NJ to Carmello Bucca and Louisa Mirandi, Minnie would eventually move to Shrewsbury, where she enjoyed her life as a homemaker. Minnie had an amazing sense of humor and made friends wherever she went. Minnie loved to gather with her sister, Ellie and her close friends from high school with whom she had a card club. The girls would gather for their annual New Years Eve card tournament and afterwards, they’d ring in the New Year by going outside to bang pots and pans. She also loved to golf and belonged to both Bamm Hollow Country Club and Eagle Ridge Golf Club. Minnie’s favorite winter destination was Port St. Lucie, Florida where the myriad golf courses kept her playing skills sharp. She was a master Skip-Bo Player, an avid reader, and loved international travel, with Spain and Italy being among her favorite destinations.

Minnie was a wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and aunt. She is predeceased by her beloved husband, Joseph Senior. She is survived by her dearest son, Joseph and his wife Sandra. She is also survived by her four cherished grandchildren: Nicholas (his wife, Amy, and daughter, Noelle), Joseph Junior, Christian, and Michael, as well as many loving nieces and nephews.

All arrangements are being handled by John E. Day Funeral Home, 85 Riverside Avenue in Red Bank, NJ. A mass will be held in Minnie’s honor at St. Anthony Roman Catholic Church in Red Bank, NJ on Wednesday March 24th, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. followed by burial at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Middletown, NJ.
