Donato “Dino” DeSanctis, 89, of Hazlet passed away on Sunday, May 22, 2022. Dino was born in Montesilvano, Italy to Vincenzo and Anna (DiTecco) DeSanctis.
Dino served in the Merchant Marines in Italy, as well as, the Italian Navy. He was a longtime communicant of St. Mary Mother of God RC Church in Middletown. He worked as a foreman for ADS Construction in the concrete and construction industry.
He was predeceased by his brothers; Benito and Sandro and his daughter-in-law, Maddalena in 2007.
Dino is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Romilda (Cerritelli) DeSanctis, 3 devoted sons; Dino (Cheryl) of Shelton, CT, Mark (Amy) of Middletown, and Richard (Maddalena) of Jackson, sisters; Elsa (Vincent) Capello of Toms River and Leda (Remo) Di Blasio of Red Bank and his grandchildren; Olivia, Kayla, Sophia, Christian, Daniel and Jason.
Family and friends may visit on Thurs., May 26th from 4-7pm at the John E. Day Funeral Home, 85 Riverside Ave., Red Bank. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Fri., May 27th, 10am, at Mary Mother of God RC Church, 19 Cherry Tree Farm Rd., Middletown. Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Middletown.
