Diane M. Ledig

June 16, 1920 ~ January 23, 2018 (age 97) 97 Years Old

Diane Ledig of Little Silver passed away peacefully on January 23, 2018. Born in Montreal, she was raised in New York City. 55 years ago, she moved to Little Silver where she raised her family. She began her career as a professional dancer and choreographer and studied music at Columbia University. She later worked as a licensed realtor in Monmouth County for 25 years. Diane traveled extensively throughout the world and served in the USO in Europe during World War II. She was a 50-year member of the Little Silver Women's Club and a parishioner at Church of the Nativity, Fair Haven, NJ. She was strong-willed and had a fierce zest for life and a boundless love for her family. A lifelong learner and active Facebook user, she loved following the events of the day and listening to the news on PBS.

She is predeceased by her husband of 40 years, Lieutenant Colonel Roy E Ledig.

She leaves behind her two daughters, Deborah DiMicelli and Janice Ledig Holmes; her son Ronald Ledig and his wife Marinette; her ten grandchildren, Chuck Menosky, Whitney Holmes, Ashley Farmer and her husband Peter, Bryan and David DiMicelli, Hope, Jenna, Kim, Richard, and Phillip Ledig; and her three great-grandchildren Lexi, Jilly, and Ally Farmer. Also surviving are her sisters Florence McKay and Mary DeWitt and her brother, Thomas Misson.

A visitation will be held at the John E. Day Funeral Home, 85 Riverside Avenue, Red Bank, NJ on Thursday, January 25, 2018 from 4-7 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Church of the Nativity, 180 Ridge Rd., Fair Haven, NJ on Friday January 26, 2018 at 11:30 AM. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Middletown, NJ. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent in Diane’s memory to the Public Broadcasting System, www.pbs.org.
