Denise Ely

Denise Ely-Palaia, 65, of Red Bank, passed away on February 10, 2021 at home. She was born in New York, NY to the late Eric and Alyce Larson. Denise is a passionate advocate for organ donation, appearing on radio and television and giving presentations to hospitals, colleges and corporations. She was a volunteer for the New Jersey Sharing Network & Live On NY organ donation organizations for many years. After receiving a liver transplant in 1998, Denise went back to school at Rutgers University to earn her Bachelor’s in Nursing.  She went on to work as a nurse at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City – the same hospital where she received her life-saving liver transplant.

She is survived by her loving sons, Eric and his wife Chelsey and Evan and his girlfriend Erin.

All arrangements are currently private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent in Denise’s memory to the New Jersey Sharing Network Foundation, 691 Central Avenue, New Providence, NJ 07974.
