Benjamin F. Appio

Benjamin F. Appio, 70, passed away on November 13, 2018 at Riverview Medical Center in Red Bank. He was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY to the late Dominick and Louise (DiTaranto) Appio. In 1975, he moved with his family to Little Silver.
Ben worked as a central office technician for Verizon in Staten Island, NY; and he was a member of CWA local 1102. He has been an avid fan of the Mets since their inception in 1962.
He is predeceased by his parents, his son, Jason Appio, and his brother, Andrew Appio.

Surviving are his beloved wife, Juliette (McDermott) Appio; his son and daughter in law: James (Yankee fan) and Idanna Appio of Little Silver; his daughter in law: Jennifer Appio of Wanamassa and his five grandchildren: Joseph, Benjamin, Zoe, Emma and Lili Appio.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at Church of the Nativity in Fair Haven on Friday November 16, 2018 at 11:00AM. All other arrangements are private and under the direction of John E. Day Funeral Home 85 Riverside Avenue Red Bank, NJ 07701. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Ben’s memory to the American Cancer Society 2310 Rt. 34 Suite 1D Manasquan, NJ 08736.
