Barbara T. Pirnat

Barbara T. Pirnat, 90, of Long Branch, passed away peacefully Thursday, July. 7, 2022.   Barbara  was born in Long Branch and  raised in Sea Bright, NJ where she attended Long Branch  High School. Following high school she attended secretary school. After secretary school.  She began working at Bell Laboratories in 1967, where she met her future husband, Richard Pirnat, whom she wed in 1968. In 1970 she became a mother with the birth of her son Richard. Barbara left Bell Labs in 1970 and embraced her most rewarding job of being a mother.  In 1973 Barbara and her husband celebrated the arrival of a second child, a baby girl, they named Ellen. Barbara went back to work when Richard and Ellen were older. She worked as a secretary at CPC  until 1992, when she retired.  In her retirement Barbara started taking classes at Brookdale to obtain an Associates Degree.  She also spent time volunteering with the Brookdale Music Club, playing the piano at area nursing homes and special education schools. When she wasn't playing the piano, she was a voracious reader.  She also had a never-ending love of animals,  especially cats and dogs,  and many have found shelter over the years with her. She was a wonderful wife and loving mother and grandmother.
Surviving Barbara  are her son, Richard; her daughter, Ellen Wilson,  her two grandchildren, Emily and Sarah Wilson; 
A memorial service will be held at 7:00 pm on Monday, July 11  at Calvary Baptist Church 1305 Eatontown Blvd. Oceanport  NJ, 07757.   Anyone wishing to send flowers for the service please have them delivered  to 80 Atlantic Ave, Long Branch NJ 07740.  Should anyone wanting to make a donation to charity in Barbara’s name please send your donations to the ASPCA or Habitat for Humanity.
