Anthony J. Orrick

January 31, 1943 ~ June 5, 2021 (age 78)


Anthony J. Orrick, 78, of Monroe, NJ, passed away peacefully June 5, 2021, surrounded by family.

Born and raised in Jersey City, NJ, to the late Joseph and Marie (DeGeorge) Orrick, Anthony attended St. Aloysius High School. He received his Bachelor's degree from St. Peter's University, and his Master's degree from Fairleigh Dickinson University.

Having summered in Long Branch, NJ as a child, Anthony had a love for the Jersey shore. In 1971, he and his beloved wife Rosemary West Orrick moved from Jersey City to Middletown, NJ, to raise their family.

For more than 30 years, Anthony worked in marketing and sales for New Jersey Bell. He retired from Verizon in 2001 to care for his wife.

Anthony was an avid sports fan. He loved coaching MYAA soccer, cheering on his grandchildren from the sidelines, and watching the Yankees and Giants with his family. He continued to play in a softball league into his early 70s.

Anthony was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Italian/American Club. He enjoyed traveling, and some of his favorite trips included Ireland, Italy, and Disney World.

Most of all, Anthony was a devoted husband, inspiring father, loving grandfather, and adoring partner. He shared the last 15 years of his life with his loving partner, Lorraine Bomba. Anthony cherished the moments spent with family and friends, and he will be deeply missed.

Anthony is predeceased by his wife Rosemary. He is survived by his two loving daughters, Annemarie and her husband Anthony Laquidara, and Jennifer and her husband Gregory Pennington, and his cherished grandchildren, Alexandra, Luke, Anthony, and Sophia; four siblings: Joseph Orrick, Judy Gabriel, John Orrick, and Robert Orrick. He is also survived by his loving partner Lorraine Bomba and her children Thaddeus Bomba, Kristina Fretz and her husband Richard, and grandchildren Charlotte and Giselle.

A Funeral Mass will be held at the Church of St. Catharine in Holmdel, NJ on Friday June 11, 2021 at 9:15 a.m. Interment will follow at Fair View Cemetery in Middletown, NJ.
