Anne Winters Maguire passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Friday August 10th. She born in Brooklyn, NY, on August 31, 1945. She grew up in Rumson, NJ, and attended Eden Hall , Convent of the Sacred Heart, located outside of Philadelphia in Torrance, PA. Anne and her husband Paul Maguire raised their family in Monmouth Beach, NJ.
Anne was predeceased by her father Dr. Daniel McCoy Winters, her mother Margaret “Peggy” Winters Everett, sister Poogie Dawes, and her loving basset hound, Harold. Anne is survived by Paul Maguire, her husband of 41 years; two sons, Edward Maguire of Monmouth Beach, NJ, and Timothy Maguire, San Francisco, CA; daughter-in- law Taylor Maguire,; two sisters, Lulu Hallenbeck and EE White, and 9 nieces and nephews, all whom she loved very much.
Anne was a lover of fashion; she worked for years at The Country Fair in Deal and Winter’s Furs in Red Bank. She loved to walk the boardwalk in Long Branch and around town in Monmouth Beach daily. In the summer months Anne could be found sunning at Monmouth Beach Bath and Tennis club where she was a lifelong member.
Services will be held on Tuesday August 14th from 4-8pm at John E. Day funeral home in Red Bank NJ. A mass will be held on Wednesday August 15th at 10am at the Church of the Precious Blood in Monmouth Beach NJ.
